series synopsis
[The In Love with the Enemy is a Contemporary Fantasy universe that is divided into three phases. Phase One is an experimental exploration of telling different background stories of characters from Phase Two, in different mediums (i.e. an epic poem, a screenplay, scraps of documents, [more]). Phase Two is a true linear story. Phase Three is where Charlotte Harper tortures the children of characters from the previous phases (it's because she hates joy).]

Format: Novel
Teaser: Sapphire Night is a Night Blood. She lives in a world of gods, living shadows, and a night sky that was painted by her ancestors. She lives in a home of silent meals, medicinal Band-Aids, and constant mental health struggles caused by family. Sapphire will immerge from her darkness with the help of friends and a new boy to her school that is washed in mystery. She will come into her identity and into herself, then she will have to fight the shadows and age-old hatreds to hold onto what she’s gained within herself and within those she loves.
Charlotte Harper's first novel, When Night Rises, is a story of mental health struggles, coming into one's identity despite family and society, and ultimately, self-love.
